About Me
My name is Sandy Busby SRN, BA Hons. Reiki Master.
Back in 1978 I started my training and worked as a Staff Nurse until 2002.
I studied at York St. John University, graduating in 2001 with a BA Honours in Theology & Religious Studies and Psychology.
I left with even more unanswered questions than I had before and my faith in tatters; it was reduced to God and me, everything else seemed irrelevant.
I meditated almost daily, and this helped tremendously. It was while I was having a quiet time that my thoughts turned to Reiki.
At that time all I knew about it was its amazing ability to relax the body, leaving it feeling light and energised.
I had come to know a little about the energy that flows through and around our bodies from receiving acupuncture, and I believed in the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
From my previous nursing career, I had also seen how important a person’s beliefs and thoughts were to their progress and well-being. For me mind, body and spirit were all linked.
I wanted to be part of something which was totally holistic, natural, safe and empowering.
In 2007, in The Zentist, a mind, body and spirit shop in York, I met my wonderful Reiki Master and Teacher, Tracey, who has taught and supported me through all three levels of Reiki training.
Over the summer of 2011 I qualified as a Five Element Reiki practitioner under Taggart King. This means I have demonstrated my ability to work with intuition, intent and the specific energies of this system, which bring about a balance of the five elements of wood, fire, earth, metal and water and their associated organs and emotions.
Dear Sandy,
Many thanks for your message. It is lovely to hear from you and I was interested to take a look at your case studies. I am pleased with what you have been doing, and you seem very comfortable with the whole process. I do hope that you have found the course interesting and fulfilling.
So, that does really bring us to the end of your course, Sandy. If you look back you will see that you have carried out a great deal of energy work and I would like to congratulate you for dedicating yourself and carrying out all the exercises necessary. You have done far more than someone attending a live course would have done - and you should be pleased with what you have achieved.
I will put your certificate in the post next week, and you will receive an invitation to join the support network group that I host for my students.
Well done. It has been a real pleasure to work with you as you progressed through your course.
Best wishes,
Taggart

Also, I had the privilege of retaking my Shinpiden (Level 3, Master) training with international author and co-founder of The International House of Reiki, Frans Stiene when he came to the Cotswolds at the end of September 2011.
Frans and Bronwen Stiene are authors of ‘The Reiki Sourcebook’ and ‘The Japanese Art of Reiki’ and constantly work at returning to the traditional practices and Ways taught back in the early 1900’s in Japan. So their teachings have a different focus than modern forms of the system of Reiki with the International House of Reiki always taking personal development and spirituality as a starting point.
This new focus has helped to deepen my own daily practice using the 5 elements of the system of Reiki; meditating - on the Precepts; meditating on the energies of Reiki, using the mantras and symbols; giving hands on healing to myself and others; and giving Reiju empowerments and Attunements.
This continual immersion in Reiki is transforming my attitudes, values and beliefs.
I feel healthier, happier, more in control and balanced.
Reiki’s gentle yet powerful healing energy has penetrated the depth of my being, and has brought self-acceptance and growth.
I want to share this beautiful healing energy with you.
